What it is

A fresh surface for your skin

Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade to gently remove dead surface cells and fine facial hair. It is a physical exfoliation treatment, not a laser or a deep resurfacing procedure.

You can book it on its own or add it to one of our four custom facials when appropriate. We assess your skin first so exfoliation feels like care, not one more source of irritation.

How it works

Gentle, precise exfoliation

Your esthetician holds the skin taut and moves a sterile blade across it with controlled strokes. The blade lifts surface buildup and fine vellus hair without changing the hair follicle.

Removing that outer layer can leave skin feeling smoother and help makeup apply more evenly. We finish with suitable skincare and explain how to protect freshly exfoliated skin.

Is it right for me?

Could your skin use a gentle refresh?

Dermaplaning may suit healthy skin with surface buildup or fine facial hair when there is no active irritation in the area.

  • You want to remove fine peach fuzz.
  • Your skin looks dull or feels slightly rough.
  • You would like smoother makeup application.
  • You can follow a gentle routine while your skin settles.

Active breakouts, infection, sunburn, or irritated skin may need to settle first. Tell us about retinoids, exfoliants, medications, and recent treatments before your appointment.

Frequently asked

A few things you may be wondering

Have another question? We are happy to talk it through before you book.

Will the hair grow back thicker or darker?

No. Dermaplaning removes hair at the surface without changing the follicle, color, or growth rate.

Can I add it to my facial?

Yes, when your skin is suitable. Dermaplaning is a $30 add-on to our Hydrating, Anti-Aging, Brightening, and Acne facials.

How should I prepare?

Tell us about your products and medications. We may ask you to pause sensitizing exfoliants or retinoids before treatment and avoid tanning or sunburn. Do not stop prescribed medication without the appropriate clinician's guidance.

What should I avoid afterward?

Use gentle cleansing, moisturizer, and sun protection. Avoid harsh actives, scrubs, and excess heat as instructed, and allow the skin to settle before makeup.

How often can I have it done?

Many clients return every four to six weeks. Your skin's sensitivity and the rest of your treatment plan determine the best interval.

Your next step

Let's talk about what you have in mind

If fine facial hair or a dull, rough-feeling surface is what you notice, dermaplaning can be a simple option to discuss.
