A lighter approach to the CO₂ gold standard
CoolPeel is a branded fractional ablative treatment performed with our Tetra Pro CO₂ laser. It removes controlled areas of damaged surface tissue while minimizing excess thermal injury to surrounding skin.
That precision changes the recovery experience. CoolPeel delivers many of the tone-and-texture benefits associated with CO₂ resurfacing, but it is intentionally gentler than our deeper ablative treatment and may require a series for more substantial change.
How it works
Short pulses resurface the skin without unnecessary lingering heat
The Tetra Pro delivers brief, high-peak-power CO₂ pulses in a fractional pattern. Damaged surface cells are removed while the energy is controlled to limit heat buildup in surrounding tissue.
This initiates cellular turnover and a collagen response. The surface can look brighter and smoother after early healing, while gradual improvement in texture and firmness continues over the following weeks.
Fractional pattern
Tiny, separated treatment zones allow the skin to resurface while intervening tissue supports recovery.
High-pulse delivery
Very short pulses provide ablative CO₂ energy while limiting the excess heat associated with more aggressive resurfacing.
Cumulative renewal
One treatment can refresh the skin, while a planned series builds broader improvement with manageable interruptions to daily life.
Is CoolPeel right for me?
Designed for visible renewal with a lighter recovery
CoolPeel may suit clients who want a meaningful improvement in skin quality but are not ready for the intensity or downtime of deeper ablative CO₂ resurfacing.
- Sun spots, freckling, or uneven tone are primary concerns.
- You want to soften fine lines, visible pores, or rough texture.
- You have mild to moderate acne scarring.
- You prefer a treatment series over one aggressive recovery.
- You can follow sun-avoidance and post-treatment skincare instructions.
CoolPeel can be considered across a broad range of skin types, but settings, pigment conditions, medications, cold-sore history, and preparation must still be assessed. A required consultation determines whether CoolPeel or another resurfacing option is safest for you.

What to expect
The CoolPeel process
Each plan is customized, but the experience follows the same clear sequence from consultation through early healing.
- 01
Consultation + preparation
Your provider reviews your skin, goals, health history, pigment risk, and before-and-after examples. Pretreatment skincare or prescribed medication may be recommended when appropriate.
- 02
Treatment
After topical numbing and cleansing, CoolPeel energy is delivered using settings selected for your skin and concerns. A cooling mask is applied afterward and your take-home care is reviewed.
- 03
Recovery + results
Expect warmth, pinkness, dryness, and a sandpaper-like texture for several days. Light flaking may follow, then smoother and brighter-looking skin emerges as collagen renewal continues.

We include topical numbing, a cooling mask, aftercare products, and personalized healing instructions with treatment.

Frequently asked
CoolPeel questions, clearly answered
What to know about comfort, downtime, skin types, pigment concerns, treatment planning, and results.
What is the difference between CoolPeel and deeper ablative CO₂ resurfacing?+
Both use CO₂ laser energy, but CoolPeel treats more superficially with short pulses designed to limit unnecessary heat. Recovery is usually shorter and results are typically more gradual. Deeper ablative treatment can address more advanced damage in one session but requires substantially more healing time.
How much downtime should I expect?+
We advise planning for roughly 1–3 days of redness, warmth, and mild swelling. Skin may feel dry or sandpaper-like, and light flaking can continue for up to about five days. Your exact recovery depends on settings, area, and sensitivity.
Does CoolPeel hurt?+
We provide topical numbing before treatment and apply a cooling mask afterward. Most clients describe warmth or a light prickling sensation. Comfort varies with treatment area and settings.
How many CoolPeel treatments will I need?+
We commonly recommend 1–3 sessions spaced about six weeks apart. A single treatment can refresh the skin, while a series is more likely to create cumulative change.
When will I see results?+
Smoother, brighter-looking skin may appear during the first week as the surface heals. Collagen remodeling and further improvement can continue for roughly four to twelve weeks.
When can I wear makeup?+
Many clients can wear clean mineral makeup after 24–48 hours, depending on sensitivity and healing. Follow the instructions given by your provider rather than the calendar alone.
Is CoolPeel appropriate for darker skin tones?+
The manufacturer describes CoolPeel as suitable across skin types, but darker skin can still carry a risk of post-inflammatory pigment changes after laser treatment. We'll assess your Fitzpatrick type, pigment history, and preparation needs before recommending treatment.
Can CoolPeel treat melasma?+
Melasma is complex and can worsen after heat or inflammation. We evaluate it individually and may recommend pigment-suppressing preparation, carefully selected settings, or another treatment. A consultation is essential before treating over melasma.
What if I have a history of cold sores?+
Tell us during consultation. Laser resurfacing can reactivate the virus that causes cold sores, so preventive antiviral medication may be prescribed around treatment.
Can CoolPeel be combined with other treatments?+
Yes, CoolPeel may be coordinated with injectables, RF microneedling, XERF, and other treatments when appropriate. Your provider will plan the sequence and healing intervals rather than simply stacking appointments together.
